Mining law

Mining is a significant activity in Gunnison County and surrounding areas and Nancy Essex represents several clients who own mines or mining claims.  She is the corporate counsel for LKA International, Inc. which owns a very active gold mine in Hinsdale County. She also represents the owner of a presently inactive gold mine in Gunnison County and a Canadian company seeking to open a mine for copper and other minerals in eastern Gunnison County. She represents mining clients in real estate matters, environmental matters, issues arising before governmental entities and in litigation with mine operators and potential investors or purchasers.
